At around 1:30 p.m. on August 29, Shai-an Winslow snatched a fellow customer's purse in the Walmart located at 11 Village Parkway, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

As Winslow grabbed the victim's purse, she fled from the store, mildly injuring the victim and knocking over a Walmart employee, authorities said.

A witness decided to chase after Winslow, following her through the parking lot, past a nearby McDonald’s, across Warrenton Road and into a local wooded area, police reported.

Once the witness yelled at Winslow to stop running, she surprisingly listened, officials said.

The witness took the purse from Winslow and when police arrived, she was charged with robbery and violation of the terms of her previous bond, law enforcement said.

The purse and its contents, worth over $1,000 were returned to the victim and Winslow was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
